It's the way things usually get better
My govvie day job is as a knowledge worker. Desk work, computers, and meetings for the most part.
We manage tasking for our project in Jira, a popular tool by Atlassian.
A colleague wanted some particular information to show up in a detail view.
I figured out how to do it, but forgot to clean up other things I had tried. The information was showing up where it didn't belong.
I found the error and let him know, and he said, “No worries, no harm done.”
I responded: “I'll take incremental improvements any day.”
He agreed.
Every day and in any way
Émile Coué, French psychologist and hypnotist around the turn of the 20th century, was a fan of autosuggestion.
Tous les jours à tous points de vue je vais de mieux en mieux.
“Every day, and in every way, I'm getting better and better.”
Taking a slight pivot
Every day, in any way, make things better and better.
Make something better at work or at home.
Make something better about yourself.
What you make better doesn't matter nearly as much as that you make better.
